STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE
The Newtown Memorial Sunday School was constructed in 1920 in a design clearly influenced by the domestic Bungalow style. It is of LOCAL significance.

Newtown Memorial Sunday School - Physical Description 1
Description
It is a single storey structure built in red brick with a broad gable roof clad in corrugated iron. On the street boundary is a flat roof section which has a decorative parapet. The gable end is set back from the front facade and the tympanum, which projects above and behind the parapet, is covered in roughcast. The front elevation is divided into five bays by the use of banded pilasters. The central bay has the entrance door and each of the others have a window. The end bays have an unusual angled bay window and a broken scroll pediment projecting above.
