Heritage Inventory Description
LAKE HATTAH PUMPING STATION - Heritage Inventory Description
Pump station shed of corrugated iron and milled timber. jetty with depth gauge and some collapsing fencing. The significance of this structure seems to have been effected by fire in the 1940s and subsequent restoration. Archaeologically the site appears to be of low significance given there was no report of subsurface deposit.
"I've contacted the principal park ranger (Phil Murdoch) and he informed me that the engine is present and essentially intact (all bar the carby), and the pump is also in a similar condition (i haven't seen the machinery, so can't comment whether it is the original and the ranger didn't know, it probably would be as it hasn't been used recently).I've also asked regarding the Friends of Hattah group that restored the pump shed, so i may be able to get contact details/further info from them also." Joseph Brooke (SKM) April 2007
Friends of Hattah group who did some minor restoration work to the jetty (mainly just propped it up).President: Jim Moor Phone (03) 5025 2771
