TIMBER COTTAGE (CAVENDISH 6 - OLDEST IN CAVENDISH) - Physical Description 1
The cottage is a very small timber framed building facing west. The walls are clad with weatherboards and the hipped roof is clad with corrugated iron. There is a simple timber verandah across the front which is enclosed at the northern end. The verandah has a waving valence. There are two doors on the front elevation, the main door being to the south, and two 12-paned double hung sash windows. There is a brick chimney at the southern end of the cottage. The northern wall has been covered with pressed cement sheeting and the window changed to louvred glass. There is a weatherboard skillion across the rear, probably original or added at a very early date. The skillion has been added to and altered slightly. The outbuildings at the rear are not of particular significance. There are some old plantings including common fruit trees.
