STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE - BELLARINE HERITAGE STUDY RECORD SHEET NO 129.
The Mannerim Primary School opened in 1891 as the Paywit South Primary School SS3096 and was renamed Mannerim in 1906. It is a simple corrugated iron gable roof weatherboard building with east and west porches. There are large cypresses, play equipment and water tanks in the vicinity. It was built as a portable building.
The Mannerim Primary School has scientific, historic and social value to the Mannerim area.
The Mannerim Primary School is in good condition and has high site integrity with original materials, finish, windows and roof form. It is the only remaining building of the once active Mannerim township and an intact example of an 1890's portable structure.
It is of LOCAL cultural significance.

Mannerim Primary School - Physical Description 1
DESCRIPTION:
A very tall plain, corrugated iron gable roof, weatherboard building facing north or to Swan Bay Road. The weatherboard west side gable entrance porch has a six pane glass window and three, four pane windows on the north side. There is an east porch with an entry door, two windows with hoods, top lights, six paned glass with two lights and the bottom finial on the gable end. There is a newer altered red brick chimney with cement render on the top. The paint colour is ochre with cream trim (possibly original). There are large cypress trees in the vicinity, play equipment and tanks. The significant architectural features are the original roof form and finish and the original doors and windows.
