SHEPHERD'S FLAT STONE HUT RUINS - History
The site is part of the Jim Crow diggings which was first rushed in 1853. Subsequent rushes occurred in 1855 and again in 1856, particularly by Swiss miners. Mining continued in the area around Shepherd's Flat for many years, with Chinese miners moving in during the 1860's.SHEPHERD'S FLAT STONE HUT RUINS - Interpretation of Site
