Statement of Significance
The two Rusty Gum Myrtles, situated in Reserve Street near Clyde Road and Gloucester Avenue, Berwick.
The two Rusty Gum Myrtles are of local aesthetic and scientific (horticultural) significance to the City of Casey.
Aesthetically, they are significant as fine examples of their type, with good size and form and which contribute to the historic landscape character of Reserve Street. (AHC criterion E1)
Scientifically, they are horticulturally significant as a good example of the species, which is rare in cultivation in Victoria. (AHC criterion B2)

Rusty Gum Myrtles - Physical Description 1
Reserve Street contains several good specimens of Angophora costata (Rusty Gum Myrtle), one of which - near Gloucester Avenue - has been classified by the National Trust of Australia (Victoria) as being of State significance. A similar specimen near Clyde Road is also of good form and size, and both contribute to the landscape of this locality. Both trees are in good condition.
