BELTONS BRIDGE - History
Although there is no documentary evidence to support this statement, it is believed that Belton Bridge was constructed by Italian POWs during the period c. 1942 to 1945. Prisoners were commonly employed in rural areas and an interment camp was located in Hallah Kulkyne NP.BELTONS BRIDGE - Interpretation of Site
Structure can be viewed as the remains of a wooden bridge used to cross Chalka Creek.

BELTONS BRIDGE - Heritage Inventory Description
Remnant features of a wooden bridge that crossed Chalka Creek in the area known as 'Beltons'. Structure has fallen, footings are visible across the bed of Chalka Creek.
Wooden poles that were used to construct the bridge. Wooden poles have iron bolts etc still in them. Past footing still visible crossing Chalka creek indicating direction of structure. Pieces of wire are also seen at site, they appear to have been wrapped around posts for added support.
