Statement of Significance
Florence Court was built in 1888 as the residence of Thomas Wilson, who was a councillor of the City of Brighton for 26 years and seven times Mayor from 1869. Wilson occupied Florence Court until 1906. The house is distinguished bythe presence of unusually large panels of incised stylised foliate designs on the external walls, a device more commonly employed on shops of the period.
