Statement of Significance
One of the seven known organs exported to Victoria in the 1860s by London organbuilder John Courcelle, this single-manual instrument of five stops is thought to have been placed in the Wesleyan Church, Fitzroy Street, St Kilda before its installation at Kensington, possibly in the 1920's. The instrument is intact, apart from the introduction of electric blowing, and retains its gabled Gothic case of three flats, oak console fittings and bold voicing.
