ETTRICK HOMESTEAD - Heritage Inventory Description
Remains of a large farming complex including the remains of several buildings. The site in cludes the remains of several buildings, gardens, outbuildings and monumental plantings of elms and pines.
Heritage Inventory Significance: Learmonth who settled at Ettrick was an important early squatter and the site has historical significance because of this. However, the extensive archaeological remains mean that quite complex research questions about the growth and development of the Ettrick Homestead can be asked. Hence the site is of high archaeological significance.
