POT BROOK CHARCOAL KILNS - History
Heritage Inventory History of Site: Stanley Dann, a contrator from Edenhope, and another contractor, possibly from Adelaide, cut timber for the kilns of Haylock's and adjoining land during WWII. The landowners were paid 1d per bag of charcoal produced.Heritage Inventory Description
POT BROOK CHARCOAL KILNS - Heritage Inventory Description
Two charcoal production kilns, possibly made out of recycled boilers. Neither had any floor, both sitting on the sand. There was no evidence of burning inside the kilns. Although no charcoal was ovserved anywhere, it may have been obscured by the heavy grass cover.
