Statement of Significance
Leneghan's Homestead, Tourello, is a two storied homestead believed to have been constructed circa 1857 for Irish-born farmer and former storekeeper Daniel Leneghan. The two storey, symmetrical stone house has a central doorway with twelve-pane sashes to either side. Quoins are repeated about the openings and the roof is hipped. The property remains in the Leneghan family.
The homestead has historical associations with the settlement of the district and with the Leneghan family who built the house and own it still. The homestead is a typical Colonial Georgian derived design, unusual in that it is a quite late example. Otherwise the house is typical of this form of dwelling house design.
The homestead is in good condition and is essentially intact.
