Statement of Significance
A combined church and school house built in 1853-4 to the design of John Young and of interest on historical, religious and architectural grounds. It is one of the most intact surviving examples of the government subsidised church-schools of the 1850s, the oldest surviving Free Presbyterian church in Victoria, and its first congregation was largely immigrants from the Scottish highlands. It has a design of a distinctive though naive Tudor character rendered particularly attractive by the combination of local sandstone and old brickwork.
