Statement of Significance
The Mincha Butter Factory is of limited architectural significance although the simple rectangular shape, front loading bay and red brick walls topped with cement sheeting combine to suggest a modest, small town, unudorned working building. The nearby cement block creamery, although architecturally unimportant, demonstrates the close relationship between creamery and butter factory. Historically Mincha Butter Factory gains significance from its association with the McKay Brothers of Sunshine Harvester fame through their ownership of the factory and their entrepreneurial role in establishing a butter factory both as a means of tapping into the local creamery networks and as a means of securing local custom for their Pyramid Hill store through the cream supplier connections.
