Chandpara was the country home of William Robert Johnston the prominent Melbourne antiques dealer [1911-1986], who assembled the Johnston Collection [Museum of Fine Art and Decorative Art] at his home [now a house museum] “Fairhall” in East Melbourne. He was the son and grandson of the Lilydale Bootmakers, Robert and William Johnston and was born at the family shop and dwelling still at 335 Main Street Lilydale.Confirmed by the Johnston Collection
