This Flowering Gum is an outstanding example of Corymbia ficifolia. which is magnificent in bloom in February. It is also the club emblem . Mr J B MacKenzie, in the late 1800s, transformed the former farmland by the establishment of magnificent plantations of Australian native trees and shrubs (The tree appears in a photograph dated 1890)
