Rare or localised
This is an attractive specimen of a species rare in cultivation in Victoria. It exhibits an outstanding conical form. The only other known exampes occur at Eastern Park (x2) and Colac Botanic Gardens. The tree is a valuable planting in the reserve of conifers and other broad-leaf trees.
Hesperocyparis macnabiana is native to California at an elevation of 300 - 850 metres in chaparral and woodland.
Located in Walter J Smith Reserve, south of the lake.
