Statement of Significance
Historical value
This English Oak, known as the 'Druids Oak' was planted by the Druids of Ballarat on 27 December 1870 to commemorate the founding of local Druid Lodges. Oaks were associated with the ancient traditions of the original Druids who met in groves of Oak trees.
It is located at the rear of Adam Lindsay Gordon's Cottage.
