Contribution to landscape of historic garden
This tree is a rare cultivar and may be the only mature specimen in cultivation in Victoria. A very upright tree, with very attractive golden leaf markings, its growth is possibly influenced by the site. A native of New Zealand, this cultivar was raised in Masterton in 1964. Another New Zealand native of considerable size, Alectryon excelsus, is growing nearby
The tree is located in the shrubbery near a large Sophora japonica
