Statement of Significance
Tree which occurs in a unique location or context and so provides a contribution to the historic garden or park;
Outstanding example of species.
A very large tree of this tropical species. Although widely planted in a number of gardens in frost-free areas, it rarely attains the height of this specimen. Another large tree is known at Dalvui, Noorat. and plantations occur in the Mildura area. The tree is in good condition although it is attacked by possums which defoliate limbs sometimes causing dieback
Was located in bed south of central fountain. Removed in 1994 after failing to recover from possum attack.
