Outstanding size
Outstanding example of species
Located 30 metres West of nursery
An outstanding example of this evergreen New Zealand native tree. The dark green, glossy, large oblong leaves are particularly attractive. This tree displays its typical habit of several upright trunks and produces yellow, olive-sized seeds which are poisonous. The tree is the best known example of a tree species which was planted in many early gardens but is now uncommon. It is very hardy on coastal sites.
