Statement of Significance
Horticultural value
Location or context
Rare or localised.
A fine mature example of this rare golden cultivar dominating the north side of the grave of Harriet and John Ellerkers, on the main path along High Street frontage. The cemetery has a distinctive 19th century planting style with an emphasis on evergreen trees, especially conifers. The plantings are now in a state of over-maturity, however, many of the rare or unusual conifers are of special interest. The character of the plantings suggest they may have been supplied by Ferdinand von Mueller in the 1860s or 1870s.
