Rare or localised
This Picconia exelsa (Canary Island Laurel) is endemic to Canary Islands but rare in cultivation in Victoria. There is one other in Eastern Park, 2 other trees at Geelong Botanic Gardens, 3 trees in the Royal Botanic Gardens and a single specimen at 'Kamesburgh', North Road,Brighton. This tree is notable for its dark evergreen foliage and spreading canopy. The tree is one of several evergreen species in close proximity to the curator's residence.
