Contribution to landscape and an important landmark
Particularly old
Curious growth form
Historical value
The tree is significant because it is considered to be one of the oldest cultivated trees on Phillip Island and is adjacent to a site of great historical importance. It also has a curious horizontal growth form due to its cliff top siting.
The Grossard Point Precinct is an area of historical significance to Phillip Island and of navigational importance to Westernport.
03/08/2010: The tree has some wind die back, but otherwise is in very good condition considering where it is growing. (AB)
