POINT WILSON JETTIES - History
Heritage Inventory History of Site: The westernmost jetty is shown on the original parish plan and was therefore probably built before 1852. All four jetties are marked on the 1864 map and appear to have changed little during the last 120 years. The jetties may have been built to facilitate the shipping of stone quarried nearby.Heritage Inventory Description
POINT WILSON JETTIES - Heritage Inventory Description
Four stone jetties extending into Corio Bay. Western-most jetty probably constructed before 1852. The site inspection in January 1995 revealed that three of the four jetties appear to be in good condition. The westernmost jetty was difficult to relocate and appears to have been partly buried by quarry overburden.
