GRANITE LODGE - History
Heritage Inventory History of Site: The house was built by Bryan McMahon, a successful gold miner, circa 1870 - 1880. The property was run as a dairy farm.
GRANITE LODGE - Interpretation of Site
Heritage Inventory Interpretation: The extant house is the original home on the site. The ruins at the rear and the cellar are probably also original. The dairy is still standing, but the stockyards are ruinous. These features are also contemporary with the house. The granite structure in the creek was probably to control erosion and was constructed at a later date.
