Statement of Significance
Archaeological: The site is comprised of a few scatters. These are however extensive and would provide a real time capsule of the period between 1876-1915.The scatter in the North East corner was probably a dump site, but may be contaiminated by rubbish from the church adjacent, which operated until 1960.
Historical: The site relates to the themes of education and developing rural economies particularly struggling with remotness, hardship and failure.
Scientific: The site has potential to provide archaeological evidence for the types of activities and resources used during the turn of the century by a small, but once busy community in rural Victoria.
Social: The site is significant to the people of Terrick TerrickEast area.

TERRICK TERRICK EAST SCHOOL SITE - History
Formerly a busy community surrounded the church and school. A 20ft x 9ft weatherboard, shingle roof school opened in 1876. The teacher lived in the school room. 58 children originally enrolled, but by 1914 only 3 were left. School closed in 1916.TERRICK TERRICK EAST SCHOOL SITE - Interpretation of Site
