BICK STUDY, 1992
The Baker outbuilding and sculptures exemplify the highly individual and creative structures made in the Shire of Eltham during the 1960s and 1970s and the social mores and social movement behind them. Eltham is well known in the general community for the distinctive structures and lifestyle established at that time. The Baker outbuilding and Garner studio in Brougham Street are the two finest small examples of these structures anywhere in the Municipality. Sharing the common use of mud brick and second-hand materials, these structures also reflect the physical involvement and individual creativity of their owners.
