Bonnie Brae, 310 Reseigh Road , RICH AVON EAST - Physical Description 1
Bonnie Brae, 310 Reseigh Road, Rich Avon East, is set on a large rural allotment, surrounded by eucalypts and other trees. The immediate surrounds include open grassed areas with perimeter garden beds and large exotic trees, and an elevated round galvanised corrugated steel water tank.
The single storey, rendered, Victorian styled house is characterised by a broad hipped roof form, together with an encircling bullnosed verandah punctuated by a minor gable above the main entrance. These roof forms are clad in galvanised corrugated steel. Early painted brick chimneys with multi-corbelled tops adorn the roofline. Narrow overhangs are features of the eaves.
A principal feature of the design is the early verandah. It is supported by turned timber columns that may be more recent, and there is an elevated timber verandah floor.
Other early features include the timber framed double hung windows, and the main timber framed doorway with panelled timber door, sidelights and highlight. The other timber and glazed French doors on the side facade appear to have been introduced.
