Broken Back Mine via O'Briens Crossing (disused) ( Black Snake Mine) - Physical Description 1
This is a beautiful scenic valley, O'Brien's Crossing is a low concrete bridge, not much more than a ford. Below it is a stone weir and further west is a road with a pebble beach and pebble weir. There is a flying fox across. Above, to the north are sandstone rubble steps and edged walking paths. The footpath to the disused Broken Back Mine is littered with equipment remnants: tramway track, etc. and excavation. Further north off O'Brien Road is a four-wheel-drive track northwards to the Black Snake Mine.
