THOMPSON BROTHERS' SAWMILL - History
THE MILL WAS ESTABLISHED BY BROTHERS AH & A THOMPSON IN 1924. YELLOW STRINGYBARK LOGS WERE BROUGHT TO THE MILL BY JINKER AND WAGON, AND TIMBER HAULED TO THE WOODSIDE RAILWAY STATION (OPENED 1923). THE MILL WAS DESTROYED BY FIRE ON 21 JANUARY 1930.THOMPSON BROTHERS' SAWMILL - Interpretation of Site
Earthworks indicate that both a breaking-down saw and a rip bench operated at the mill. Interconnected soaks in the creek below provided water.
