The ceramic and glass artefacts are very fragmented and have been dated to the late19th-century. The construction method of the well was demonstrably recent, using machine-made bricks.
POTTERS HILL ROAD WELL - Archaeological Significance
The site has low archaeological significance. The area may contain subsurface archaeological deposits relating to the structures and pastoral occupation of the area.
Heritage Inventory Description
POTTERS HILL ROAD WELL - Heritage Inventory Description
A brick lined well (2 metres in diameter) was identified. The rim of the featureis characterised by bricks. Only the ground level courses of the well remain, and it has been filled in with rubble/dirt. The structure is located within a 15 m diameter depression. Levelling of the area immediately to the east of the well may represent the location for a former structure.
Machine-made bricks, glass and ceramic artefacts.
