Former Crone's buildings, rear Store/Stables over drain, 80-84 Napier Street, ST ARNAUD - Physical Description 1
The rectangular timber building is built over the St Arnaud creek which runs parallel with Napier Street. The building is built right to the lane boundary. The buildings has a gable roof clad in corrugated steel. A small intersecting gable covers the loft door and supports a gantry beam for lifting chaff onto or off drays for storage and distribution. The walls are clad in square edged weatherboards. The openings are screened with timber louvres. There are five square openings at the lower level facing the lane. A narrow door appears to have been introduced on this elevation. The building has a slatted floor which was reputed to be to allow for the sweeping out of any muck directly in the creek running below.
