Statement of Significance
The former 'Goldfield Tyre & Battery' building, 125-129 Napier Street, St. Arnaud is historically and architecturally significant at a CONTRIBUTORY level. It is associated with commercial developments in St. Arnaud in the 19th century and demonstrates some important design qualities. These qualities include the rendered shopfront, the rendered parapet with vermiculated piers, the timber shop window with ingo, the cast iron and timber decoration of the stall boards below the window, retained timber panelled door with transom light over, the evidence of the earlier street verandah and its form and scale in the streetscape.
