House, 60 Queens Avenue, ST ARNAUD - Physical Description 1
The site at 60 Queens Avenue has visual connections with the significant, predominantly Victorian styled, single storey residential streetscape and the house on this site is generally in accord with the form, style, setbacks and construction of these houses. The Victorian style of this house suggests that it was constructed in the late 19th or early 20th century.
The house at 60 Queens Avenue is in a garden setting with a narrow setback. The house has a recent low timber picket fence with gate.
The Victorian styled house is characterised by two gabled roof forms that traverse the site. A gently curved verandah extends from the roof at a slightly pitch than the roof and returns along both sides of the building. These roof forms are clad in corrugated steel. An early brick chimney with a corbelled top adorns the roofline at one gable end.
The front and side timber framed, double hung windows are also early. The four panelled timber front door also appears to be early.Heritage Study and Grading
