Statement of Significance
The house at 5 Johnson Street, Stawell, is of aesthetic significance at a CONTRIBUTORY level in the Stawell Seaby Street precinct. Although altered the building retains qualities of an interwar bungalow. These qualities include the gable roof forms clad in corrugated metal with curved finials, the notched timber cladding in the gables with lattice sections at the apes and brackets at the base, the square edged weatherboard wall cladding, the triple light double hung windows with leadlights in the upper panes and the face brick chimney.
