Statement of Significance
The house at 9 Johnson Street, Stawell is of aesthetic significance at a CONTRIBUTORY level in the Stawell Seaby Street precinct. The house retains qualities of an early twentieth century house. These qualities include the steeply pitched hipped roof with exposed rafters at the eaves, the unpainted red brick chimney with corbelled brick banding, the return hipped, bull nosed verandah supported on timber posts with timber fretwork brackets, the central doorway with flanking timber double hung windows and the the double hung side windows with the decorative timber window shades.
