Statement of Significance
The house at 20 Sloane Street, Stawell, makes a significant architectural contribution to the predominantly late 19th and early 20th century residential area. It is significant at a CONTRIBUTORY level, being associated with residential developments in Stawell in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, and it demonstrates some remnant and appropriate design qualities of a Victorian vernacular style. These qualities include the single storey height and modest scale, gable roof form, horizontal timber weatherboard wall cladding, brick chimney and the timber framed double hung 12 paned windows.
