Aquinas college, 1014 - 1020 Mair street, Ballarat - Physical Description 1
Formerly known as Manifold House, this building formed part of the Church of England Girls' Grammar School.* Built on a bluestone base, the building is of red brick with cream brick trim. Two projecting bays contain pairs of arch headed windows flanked by Corinthian pilasters. The ,two storey, return verandah is supported on single iron columns at both levels, surmounted by a cast iron frieze with two pendant drops in each bay and cast iron brackets. The upper level has a cast iron balustrade. The hip roof, with semicircular ventilators, terminates in a flat section with cast iron railings. Although marred by modern additions, this building is still an important part of the streetscape, especially in its garden setting with mature trees.'
