Former Burnley Drill Hall - Veterans Description for Public
The former Burnley Drill Hall, on Swan Street, was built during the First World War. Like the majority of drill halls built at this time, it is constructed from corrugated iron. The expansion of the armed forces from 1911 and then the outbreak of the First World War resulted in a large number of drill halls being constructed by the Commonwealth up to 1918.
