Terang War Memorial - Veterans Description for Public
The Terang War Memorial Obelisk, on High Street, was erected in 1923 to commemorate the First World War. The monument was paid for by two local pastoralists and is notable in terms of its scale, being Victoria's tallest obelisk. A bas-relief on the base of the obelisk, by C. Douglas Richardson, depicts the Light Horse charging.Plaques have since been added to commemorate service in the Second World War,Korea and Vietnam.
