HART'S BOATBUILDING YARD - History
Harts boatbuilding yard stood sandwiched between the Ferguson St Pier and The Dredging Depot, and constructed small boats and yachts (WA, 28/9/1889; WC, 11/10/1890). The boatyard was offered for sale in 1893 (WA, 18/3/1893), and the land appears to have been purchased by the Hobsons Bay Yacht Club, who still occupy the site.HART'S BOATBUILDING YARD - Interpretation of Site
This site is now part of the Hobsons Bay Yacht Club, and some of the site has been taken over by the Ferguson St roundabout. Some remains could exist under the buildings and roads currently on these sites, as they were built around the 1920's. This site has been used extensively for boating activities since at least 1889, and forms part of the boatbuilding and recreational yachting landscapes of Williamstown
