Statement of Significance
The site has probable archaeological deposits from the former boat maintenance activities (including possible slipways, leeway blocks and associated discarded relics), and has social significance for the fishing community of Queenscliff.

QUEENSCLIFF BIGHT COUTA BOAT CAREENING BEACH - History
This area was used as an informal area to careen couta boats since the inception of the fishing industry in the 1860s, until at least when The Cut was installed in the 1930s, and possibly later.
