STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE
Former Charlemont is a Late Victorian timber house built in the mid1890s. It is architecturally significant locally as an unusual variant of this domestic style. Of particular interest is the gable, bay and verandah forms. It is historically significant as the representative embodiment of family lifestyle of the period.
INTACTNESS Very good. Brick chimneys have been painted.

Residence " Charlemont" - Physical Description 1
A most singular and complex early Late Victorian timber, hipped-roof double-fronted house. The left bay projects, with a tripartite window containing diamond leadlight. In the angle and at the right comer, are canted and rectangular bays respectively, with gable roofs. The first, has the entrance, which has side and fanlights and a leadlight, panelled door the second projects on coved brackets. Their gables have mock shingles, over panelling. The verandah begins at the angle, and extends around, incorporating octagonal sections around the bays, to return at right. It has coved eave brackets and others support stylised Doric posts.
