STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE
Oldsbury is a timber Edwardian house bult in 1906-7. It is architecturally significant locally as characteristic of this style with interesting decoration including wavy palisade and chrsyanthemum motifs. It is historically significant as the representative embodiment of the lifestyle of this period in Newtown.

Residence "Oldsbury" - Physical Description 1
A double-fronted, hip-roofed, timber Edwardian house. The left bay projects as a gable. The upper section is mock shingles and jettys forward on brackets. In the angle is a gabled porch, which extends at left, under the hip as a verandah on posts with fretwork brackets. The porch has an arched valence, with a wavy palisade, with chrysanthemum quadrant brackets. At the comer is a splayed rectangular bay. All eaves have fretwork coved brackets.
