SIGNIFICANCE
A timber Edwardian house built in 1904. It is architecturally significant locally as an early example ofthe Edwardian domestic style, although built only a few years later than the distinctively Late Victorian house next door at no. 8 (ref 64). Its very early Art Nouveau influenced elements (fretwork, oculus, etc) are of particular interest. It ishistorically significant as a representative embodiment offamily life in the early years ofthe twentieth century.

Residence - Physical Description 1
DESCRIPTION
A hip-roofed, double-fronted timber Edwardian house. The right bay projects as a gable, yet allowing the main hip to extend as a hip over a small verandah in the right comer. The upper gable jettys on ogee consoles, timbered and ripple-iron clad. Below is a canted bay window, with leadlight, stepped cill and mock shingles cladding spandrel. The verandah resumes at left, and returns around the angle, which is splayed, with an arched window. At front is a leadlight oculus. Posts have sinuous fretwork. A wing projects at left side rear, with a canted bay and ripple iron hood. In the angle here, is the entry, with an extended roof It has side and fanleadlights. Chimneys are brown brick with fine frieze mould.
