Residence "Kal-Mya" - Physical Description 1
A double-fronted red brick bungalow with a gabled roof across. The left bay projects as a verandah, with the upper section timbered on small ogee brackets. It has a broad catenary-curved, rendered arch, with clinker brick voussoirs, supported on brick piers with rendered buttresses and a brick balustrade decorated with slots. At right is a shallow bow window with leadlight uppers sashes. The roof has Marseilles unglazed terra-cotta tiles.
The chimney has decorative clinker header and soldier courses with a flat top and pot. There is also a clinker soldier course at damp-proof course level and the bow-window is all clinker headers. Extraordinarily, all brickwork is tuckpointed and dyed red. The fence is contemporary with the house, similar to the balustrade with a pipe-rail spanning between brick piers. There are steel geometric vehicular gates.
