STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE - GRC - HISTORIC PLACES DOCUMENTATION SHEET NO. 347
The Canoe Tree in Queens park is witness to the presence of aboriginal communities in the Geelong Region prior to European Settlement.
The bark scar, in the shape of an elongated dish, marks the removal of sound bark to fabricate a crude canoe
The site is of permanent archaeological significance.
