Statement of Significance
STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE
A relatively simple timber Edwardian house built in 1916. It has local architectural significance as representative of this domestic style and historical as embodying unpretentious family life in Newtown during the Great War, and as evidence that house construction continued during the war.

Residence - Physical Description 1
A gambrel roofed rectangular but triple-fronted Edwardian timber house with an L-shaped verandah around the right angle, recessed under the roof. This has a palisade rail valence with arched and heart-shaped panels over bosses. Posts are sawn and arrised. The dado weatherboards have v-cut decoration. There are skillion window-hoods on palisade and fretwork brackets. Rafters are expressed and the dark brown brick chimneys have unglazed pots. The roof has pressed metal curlicue finials and crenellated cresting. The panelled and glazed entrance door has side and fan-lights.
