STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE:
A particular early timber California Bunglow built in 1913 by Arthur Walker, Newtown and Chilwell's Town Clerk. It is architecturally significant locally as a particularly early representative of the Californian Bungalow style and historically in embodying white collar family life in Newtown just before the Great War.
INTACTNESS: Very Good. The fence is recent, there is a major two storey addition as the rear.
CONDITIONS & THREATS: Very Good.

Residence - Physical Description 1
DESCRIPTION:
A triple-fronted timber high-hipped roof Californian Bungalow. A major gable projects at left over the verandah, which returns at left to another projecting wing. There is an octagonal bay at the angle and a glazed screen at each end. The upper gable is timbered on brackets, with a separate barge. Below is splaying shingles, also on brackets.
Verandah posts have deep fretwork haunches. At right ?? on the spandrel. The plain brick chimney has an unglazed terracotta pot. Rafters are exposed
